Did you see the Turkish Airlines World Final footage from last month?
We were on the edge of our seats as Justin Rose shot a superb 66 to beat Lee Westwood and take close to £1m in prize money. As a result of the success of the tournament, the eurpoean tour is planned to hit the Maxx Royal Montgomerie course in belek in 2013; firmly putting Turkey on the golfing map. We are very excited about this as it will allow people to see just how fantastic the courses are in the region.
In a sky news article, Rose proclaimed his delight after winning the tournament. He understood it was down to the last stretch, however knew that Westwood missed plenty of opportunities in their grueling battle.
He said “
Lee again played solidly today. Where the putts went in yesterday for him, they burned the edge today and when he’ll look back at the round there were a lot of chances for him.”
“But it got tight at the end. He did what he had to do; he put the pressure on me all the way. He made a great four at 16 where I thought his ball was actually wet with the second shot.”
“And then obviously at the 18th he kept the pressure going.”
A fantastic end to a great tournament. We, at Ventus Golf, are certainly looking forward to seeing what the European tour will have to offer in 2013.
